About the course

The Game Development Level 3 course at Belfast Met offers an intensive, practical, skill focused qualification that is built to provide students with the skills to develop and create modern video games, and to provide students with the experience of working as part of a professional computer game development studio. Core areas assessed will be based around informing ideas, problem solving, technical skills, professional practice, and communication.

Over the two years on the course, you will work on several projects, focusing on 2D and 3D game development along with immersive game development using Augmented Reality or Virtual Reality technology. You will be taught using the latest, and leading, industry standard game development applications and engines.

You will be able to develop these skills on high end industry level PC workstations and also have access to the latest games consoles, augmented reality devices and Virtual Reality systems.

The qualification combines both theory and practical elements. The course is 100% coursework and is equivalent to three A Levels.
