Taking place at Westminster Kingsway College and Barnet and Southgate College, the idea is to help you try out some cool techniques to see if VFX is right for you!
We'll be using publicly available assets, so you’ll be able to take your creations away with you if you provide a memory stick.
As these are a taster workshops they are not intended for those already working in the VFX industry.
This is a free event, but spaces are extremely limited! We kindly request that only those who meet the criteria mentioned above attend.

Rafal Kaniewski will be leading our first session at Westminster Kingsway College on Tuesday 26th March from 4pm to 7pm. Rafal will be introducing and using Nuke to create VFX for this session.
Rafal began his journey in the entertainment industry as an assistant on-set carpenter in L.A. In the 90s, he contributed to urban youth TV projects, taught media studies, and explored various roles in filmmaking and art installation. Transitioning into the 2000s, he honed his skills in editing, rendering rave visuals, and delved into feature compositing at Double Negative.
Throughout the 2010s, Rafal worked globally for renowned companies like Industrial Light & Magic and Cinesite, showcasing his versatility as a compositor and lighter for feature animations. With a passion for equality, exploration, and breakfast, Rafal continues to evolve in the dynamic world of VFX.
Olly Nash will be leading our second event at Barnet and Southgate College on Thursday 28th March from 4pm to 7pm. Olly will be introducing and using Maya to create VFX for this session.
With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Olly Nash is a seasoned 3D animator known for her expertise in Houdini and Maya software. Notable highlights include her role as Character Animator for Clear Post Production on acclaimed projects like "28 Days Later" and "Wasp."
Olly's talents extend to creating intricate simulations, such as a leaking water effect for "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" and setting ships on fire for "Napoleon." Throughout her career, she has held various senior positions at esteemed companies including Prime Focus, Studio AKA, and MPC. Currently, Olly works as a Senior/Lead 3D Generalist TD at BlueBolt, where she continues to push boundaries in visual effects.
